Werner Herzog is a German director who was considered as one of the pioneers of New German Cinema. Herzog is one of the most dedicated directors alive today. Herzog is known for the varied themes of struggle and ideology in his movies. Also his dedication and determination can be seen in the documentary Burden of Dreams which talks about the struggle they underwent to make the movie Fitzcarraldo. His movie collaborations with Klaus Kinski is very well-known among the Art Film circuits.
The movie to be spotlighted is Fitzcarraldo. Fitzcarraldo talks about Irishman known as Fitzcarraldo living in Iquitos. He goes on a mission to extract rubber from an unexplored area in the Amazon forest. His mission was full of struggles and does he succeeded or not turns the crux of the story.
