Sun Pictures on 10th Feb, 2022 announced it’s new project with Superstar Rajinikanth. The movie will be directed by Nelson, and music by Anirudh Ravichander.
The shooting will start on 22nd August 2022, and the films is slated to release in theatres on April 14th, 2023 (Tamil New Year’s Day). It’s confirmed that, Ramya Krishnan and Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Vasanth Ravi are part of the cast, along with the usual suspect Yogi Babu. Earlier schedule in Hyderabad was delayed due to strike.
- Jailer marks Shiva Rajkumar’s debut in Tamil cinema.
- The music is composed by Anirudh in his third collaboration with Rajinikanth, after Petta and Darbar and fourth collaboration with Nelson
- Vasanth Ravi will play the the role of Superstar’s son
- Tamannah and Jai’s roles are unknown.
Sun TV will of-course retain the TV telecast rights, and streaming rights with Sun NXT.
