28 Days of love – 1/28 – Manjal Veyil maalayile -

February is the month of love which is celebrated universally. Being an ardent movie buff, I would like to share some of the best-visualised songs on love.

My criteria for selecting songs is that the song, its lyrics and picturization must reflect the tender, mutual and slow growth of romance between the lead pair. Most specifically, there mustn’t be any gender bashing, explicit words or unsocial behaviours (stalking). The closer the picturization is to reality, the better. In the upcoming posts, I will share a youtube link to the song, and a snippet explaining why I chose it.

Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu is 2006 crime thriller flick starring Kamal Hassan and Jyothika. This movie had another love portion between Hasan and Kamalini Mukherji. The song partha muthal naale was also well received but this song portrays the budding love between Kamal Hassan and Jyothika in the subtlest way possible. Director Gautham Menon has a way with visuals and the lead actors totally nailed the song with subtle expressions.
